I was hoping to get some thoughts on the value of this card. As far as I can tell it’s the only one known to exist. Thorpe is a fellow Oklahoman, which is why I bought this when I had the chance even though it didn’t really fit my collection.

Mortgage the house

It would be nice if you were right about that. I paid $12,000 in 2017, but it only had JSA authentication at the time. I don’t plan to sell anytime soon, but I am curious what it would sell for.

I believe the technical term is a "shit ton" but being unique I don't know what you want people to tell you.

You obviously go with a big auction house that reaches the most deep pocket buyers and hope two guys have to have it.

Before selling, you may consider sending it back to get the card and/or auto graded instead of just AUTH. Not that it's really for a registry set, but if it gets an 8-10 autograph I think it adds to the sale value. People just love numbers.

The card has scrapbook damage on the reverse so it wouldn’t grade numerically and the autograph is light and probably wouldn’t grade above a 6 or 7. I typically do get cards dual graded but decided not to in this instance.

Got it; just wanted to make sure you had considered it.

Great advice and something that I bet is often overlooked.

That is an incredible card and it would be very difficult to put an accurate price on. It is such a fluid market I think it’s very hard to determine. One thing for sure, you’re not going to lose money on that bad boy.
