Figured I'd start a thread featuring cards from my favorite decade. I find hockey cards from other eras (both older and newer) very appealing. However, nothing quite resonates with me the way that cards from the 80s do.

So, show 'em if you got 'em.

I'll start things off with this Mario Lemieux rookie. I was 13 years old when this card was released. Even though I typically got Topps cards back then, as most American kids did, this was my favorite hockey set as a youngster.

How about that OTHER great Bruins blueliner?

I grabbed my Lemieux earlier this year and I'm glad I did before the huge price increase.
I also grabbed a few other 80's cards while I was at it and I am still searching, looking for others as well.

awesome cards. question on the gretzky sault ste marie card - was that a card the team put out as a throwback? obviously 99 wasn't playing junior in 1987. thanks for the info, got me curious.

i have a reprint from his indianapolis days, which i love even though it's not worth anything. would post a pic but still haven't figured out how to do that properly.

I'm a 70's guy but I think this is one of the nicest looking designs for the Oilers great teams

Yes, the Soo Gretzky is a throwback card that was issued years after he played for the team. Speaking of Gretzky with Indy, here's a cool team photo!
