1980 Topps Bird/Erving/Johnson - Worth Grading?

Hi all - wanted to get some feedback on my 1980 Bird/Magic rookie. I don't think it's worth getting graded if it comes back as a 5 or 6. Personally I think it's a 7+ but I'm new to grading. For the most part, the card is very clean. Corners and edges are great. There are no black defects on the surface like a lot of these cards usually have. The two issues are the centering, and two small marks on the top left of the Erving panel and top left of Magic panel. You can see in the pictures. Based on previously sold graded cards on eBay - this seems to compare well to 7's and 8's. Any feedback is appreciated!

My main concern is that it’s going to come in at a 7 or 8 oc because of the top bottom centering (from the horizontal perspective).

If you are selling

If you are selling it - I think it is worth grading regardless.

I'm afraid you might be disappointed by the grade you get. The two edge issues at the top would make this either a 7 OC or a 5 to 6 (with no qualifiers requested), I'd think.

PSA can be very tough on this card. Mine was already graded when I got it, but I assume the prior owner asked for no qualifiers. It looks pristine and perfectly centered except for those typical modest print marks on magic and bird (and they aren't that severe).

It still got just a 7. I've seen '75 HOF baseball cards get a PSA 8 that were diamond cut one way, 65/35 centering the other way, and almost as many print issues (also typical of that year)

I'd grade it just to secure and preserve it.

I would for sure get it graded. For a comparison here is a 7 that I have.

Agreed with everyone above. I think those two issues on the top edge will drop it down to a 5 or 6 depending on how much damage there is. The top to bottom centering doesn’t help either. I’d still get it graded regardless! Beautiful card

Very cool card ... 3 absolute legends.

Even in lower grades this is a valuable card but yeah I'd do it as part of a bigger or bulk submission, not express where cost makes less sense though certainly faster.

Imo

I think it is a 5-6. but i'd expect a 6... and definitely worth grading...
