OT/ HOF pitchers and their battery Mates
Posted By: Jerry Rucker
I was googling my old family friend Glenn Myatt and ran across the neat website that list Hof Pitchers and their Battery mates. Some interesting tidbits, when you think of Walter Johnson you think of Gabby Street but actually Eddie Ainsmith caught Johnson in more than twice as many games, even Muddy Ruel caught Johnson in more games than Street. On Matty you think of Chief Myers and while he did catch matty in the most games, Frank Bowerman & Roger Bresnahan caught more of Matty's shutouts than the Chief did. I found out that Mr. Myatt caught hofer Stanley Covelesky 33 times in his career.
Just a neat website on catchers and though I would bring it to your attention, if you didn't already know about it.
http://members.tripod.com/bb_catchers/catchers/battery-hof00.htm

OT/ HOF pitchers and their battery Mates
Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
JERRY

We tend to identify Gabby Street with Walter Johnson from the myriad number of Tobacco cards
that were issued during 1908-1911 when they were battery mates. But, Johnson's better years
were when Ainsmith was Johnson's battery mate.

Anyway, here is their great combo card.

TED Z
