Bill Russell

How would PSA/DNA authenticate this:

I have conflicting feelings about this card. I am in talks with the seller to purchase some other cards. He got many of them signed at signings and got them graded himself. I know Bill Russell stopped signing due to his age, so maybe his autograph had begun to deteriorate, but that auto is particularly bad. Curious if anyone has any other thoughts

There are examples from 2019-20 sets where the Russell signature has changed very little from prior years, slight deterioration. Russell has not signed publicly in several years. If this was signed recently, this would show a decline that was not apparent when he showed up on recent media. I did inquire when this item was procured and slabbed but got nothing back. So, I do not understand how PSA/DNA would authenticate, unless they witnessed this, as this would not match any known exemplar.

Are these cards "on card" autographs? Topps is still including Musial in sets long after he's died. But the newer Musials are all sticker autos that they put on whatever card they want. Might be the same case with Russell.

Probably old autographed stickers then. Who knows when they were signed.
