Identification Help on Vintage Golf Postcards

7 Attachment(s)
Hi-
I recently acquired the group of real photo postcards and photos scanned below and I was wondering if anyone could help identify some of the golfers depicted? The ephemera dealer I purchased them from thought they were circa 1920s-1930s and that the first photo shows Craig Wood. Lake Placid NY is written on the back of most of the photos and postcards. I am guessing Wood is depicted on at least one of the rppcs as well. Are there any other notables showing in the images? Any idea on a better date range? Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson

Sorry to be of no help, but the third one down of the lady golfer is just wonderful. Looks to be a pretty big event. Thanx for posting those.

They are cool looking.....
but I am unable to help with any identification.

Craig Wood

I believe the first one is Craig Wood. Some of the others are a little small to get a close look at facial structures.

You probably already know that Wood was born in Lake Placid and the Lake Placid Golf Course was renamed the Craig Wood golf course in the early 1950s.

Thank you Eric Joe and David! I am not a golf collector normally but I purchased them because of the clarity and quality of the images.

David-
I do know a little bit about Craig Wood from Google searches. I will also scan some of the postcards at a higher resolution over the weekend to see if it aids in identification. I realize these folks probably are not famous but I figured it is a good idea to check.

Thanks again,
Alan

Better scans added

Hi-
I rescanned all of the photos except for the Craig Wood one at a higher resolution (600 dpi). I am attaching them to the next few posts. Does this help with possible identities?
Thanks again,
Alan

Identies

The one with the rip/tear on top resembles Joe Kirkwood.

That was the only one that came to mind right away although some of the others look familiar. The same golfer is in all three of the group photos and he appears slightly older in the third.

If anything comes to mind I will re-post. I will also check some reference material I have to see if that helps.

Thanks David! I really appreciate the assitance with these. It seems Kirkwood had a great career.
