Hello all,

I realized that I have been floating around here for over a month and never had the courtesy to introduce myself... I am a returning collector after a very long hiatus...

Really appreciate this site and all the information as I try to educate myself on cards. I have already bought a bunch of cards here, and have had great experiences!

My current collecting focus:
- T-206 commons in the VG to EX range, with varied backs
- Goudey 1933
- nice cards of HOFs from the 50s/60s/70s
- ripping packs (even junk era!)

One of my favorite cards here... hope it turns out to be authentic!
Curious, where do you think this would grade?

Welcome.

This forum is a treasure trove of card collecting information. I'm new here too and am more than impressed with the members depth of knowledge. Plus they have the best collections.

Now if I can just figure out how to put a cool picture next to my name...

Welcome to the forum!

I would guess that your Banks rookie would grade out as a 5.

Casey, to add an avatar next to your name, click on the "User CP" link at the left side of the blue bar in the banner section of the forum. Then click on the "Edit Avatar" link in the dropdown menu on the left side, and you should be able to import whatever picture you prefer as your avatar, provided it does not exceed the required size limit.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip Tom.

The longer you're here, the sooner you'll learn, there is no rhyme or reasoning behind TP grading.

Welcome!

Also thinking the high end on your Banks is gonna be a 5 (couple of slightly soft corners)

Putting this 5 up for comparison - This was a raw card that I personally sent in (maybe 18 months ago) and had envisioned possibly a 6 on it?

Welcome to the board; I think I've responded to some of your questions already. Somewhere around a 5 or 6 is reasonable on your Banks card. Very nice example. Centering off in two directions, but not as bad left/right since Banks's backside would hang off the card if it were properly centered based on the bottom border.
Mudhen, on the Jackie, did you submit with No Qualifiers requested? Because with the tilt leading to like 90/10 centering on the left side of the card, 5 was probably a max unqualified grade. That's presuming PSA is consistent though, which is a farce.

Thank you... that is a beautiful Robinson, looks like a 6 to me. TPG grading can be very inconsistent. With this as the comparison, the Banks certainly looks like a 4. however, I think yours is undergraded..

I did not request a "No Qualifiers" when submitted - but yea I could see it might have been a candidate for higher grade with a qualifier.
