Absolutely NOT Rookie Cards!

Ok, let me start off by saying, I don't really care how anybody defines a "Rookie" card for themselves.

I'm fine with people playing loose and fast with the rules. 1st mainstream issue, 1st U.S. issue, 1st English language issue, 1st foreign issue, 1st issue put in trading card packs, 1st Topps issue, 1st issue in existence overall, no hand-cuts, yes hand-cuts.

You can even call a Broder or ACEO type card that has no chance of getting graded by a major TPG a Rookie card if you like. Like I said..........I don't care.

That said.............THESE.............are not Rookie Cards. They are recently made custom made cards with fake dates put on the back. They were not made on the dates claimed in these listings. Not even close.

Again...........I don't mind custom made cards. I actually like them. Get creative. Go nuts.

However, don't put fake dates on them, call them "art", and then try to pawn them off as made on the dates listed on the backs.

Here's a Mike Tyson I've seen popping up lately:

Here's a Floyd Mayweather:

I've actually seen the Mayweather sell on a regular basis. At the price point it's selling at...........I'm assuming it's collectors new to the boxing market who think it's an actual "Rookie" card.

Again. I like custom and art cards. I like the Helmar cards and know they get competitive bidding sometimes among collectors.

These are not that.

I've also run across other athletes made and marketed similarly. Including Tiger Woods, and a really laughable Tommy Lasorda, if you can believe it.

Am I reading this wrong or is it a flat out lie?

ACEO (Art card editions and originals - custom inspired card made on the year listing on card)

I'm pretty sure I read it the same way as you did.

We know better, but I'm guessing some don't.

One thing with more modern athletes. You can almost get away with it. I saw a Luka Doncic up there to. I'm confused they even attempted that with the Lasorda card.

It is a shame that people do not take the time to learn before they buy but that's not unusual in the USA

For that price I'd expect Tyson to deliver it in person and slug me for being a dumbass.

I would probably pay some small fee for videos of those deliveries...
