T206 Uzit
So who got any Uzits this morning?
|
I had one last week ;)

That is quite a few Uzits. I bet they probably didn't get what they would have gotten in a regular hobby auction. That being said I can't see the prices realized ......

T206 Uzit
Most went for double what I thought...shutout again on the Hofman BL350.
30k for the lots was very strong. |
Of all the places to sell a hoard of Uzits...
One order of sour grapes for the guy in Walpole....:D |
They went for a little over than I expected. The Willis went for $4500 without the 18%. They ranged from $1500 for Smith with paperloss to $3000 or so. Pretty much more than I expected.

Uzit
Based on the numbers I would say right at retail. Nothing too far out of whack in my opinion. The Hofman was part of a lot with a Uzit as well so that bargain is gone.
|
There were 10 Uzits and two Lennox backs. The lots were grouped by team so the St. Louis Lot had two Uzits. The New York Lot had 3 Uzits, and 1 Lennox back. The Chicago lot had 1 Uzit and 1 Lennox.
I think the St. Louis Uzits were the best condition of the group. Someone on the phone won most of the lots. |
I was hoping they would slip through the cracks, but when the first Uzit (w/ paper loss) sold for well over $1k, I knew I'd be shut out from the rest. Very strong prices.
There were also quite a few Tolstoi freaks (w/ name on top and bottom), including a Duffy and a Tinker. I'm sure the auctioneer was floored when they thought they had $250 lots that sold for $5k+. I can't remember which one (Bergen, perhaps), that was an unconfirmed Uzit on t206 resource. That lot realized a very strong price. Clearly, there were some astute bidders, although the final prices seemed a bit high to me. |
Wow, some nice cards.

Auction
I was at the auction but I am not much of a T206 guy so I was digging around for info and prices seemed all over the map on the uzit backs. There is a guy offering strong prices listed in the SMR and if he will pay then there was plenty of money to be made with these cards.
Overall the cards were generally nice but the T205 were nicer then the T206. Not a lot of HOF and the single lots like the t206 cobb and the T205 Matty went for insane prices, ie I can buy nicer cards already graded for less on ebay. I won a few of the Mecca's and 11 T206 lot that included a Hoffman Broad Leaf, TinkerTolstoi double name miscut and the Uzit Steinfeldt. I felt this was the nicer of all the Uzit back's except for perhaps the Willis (which was very clean). Anyway I am curious what you guys think these will grade and the value. Better to go with PSA or SGC to get the highest return? Is there any way to know if the Hoffman is a 350 or 460 back? It seems from T206resource that he is only on a 350 back. http://www.thetoyheaven.com/images/i...6uzitfront.jpg http://www.thetoyheaven.com/images/i...06uzitback.jpg James G |
Nice score James. Hofman is a 350 series card.
|
I would go PSA due to the PSA registry sets as well as David Hall looking for PSA graded cards as his ad in the SMR states.
|
After seeing the prices realized it does look like the Crazy T206 guys found them :).
|
For anyone that may care the Steinfeldt got a PSA 4 which is exactly what I had it graded at.
