Bill James Baseball Abstracts

Trying to get a complete set of Bill James Baseball Abstracts.
Have 1982-1988 in hand.
Need 1977-1981.
Anyone have those who would sell?
If not, ideas where I could find them?

1977-81 were not mass distributed so you'll have more luck with EBay or with book sellers such as Bobby Plapinger to get those as some of the very early years were printed in very limited quantities.

you might get more eyes on this if you post it in the proper section (Baseball Memorabilia BST)

Those are very difficult but I know around here on Long Island several public libraries had them back in the 80's, so they can be found. There's also some newsletters he did associated with the self-published books. You will need a little luck on all of this.

Abstracts

I collected these for a while a few years back, bought all I could find, and eventually sold. Definitely a challenge to find, especially 1977-1979. Save a search with reminders on eBay for Bill James Baseball Abstract, but also check diligently as they will sell before you get notifications sometimes. Check online used book stores, occasionally they will have one pop up, like abebooks.com, I think I found a couple over the years. I remember asking around at a larger card show one time, and many dealers had no idea what they were. I still believe these early years will be so valuable as Bill James will be in the HOF one day. Good luck with the search!!!

I'm not sure if they have ISBNs, but if they do, type them into "allbookstores.com" and use their search. They compile a net-wide search of all book sellers who have that isbn listed. Ebay and amazon obviously, but also tons of other book sellers that you've never heard of. I discovered that site back in the stone ages (college, ha) and saved a ton of money on text books, but I still use it occasionally to this day if I'm looking for a book.

These do not have ISBNs. These were self-published.
