Anyone ever seen this before as I haven't and it cant be found anywhere on their website? Is it PSA's way of saying - "Yea we don't have a clue BUT thanks for the Grading Fees"? |
No it means it's fake.
|
Do you have a scan of the card?
|
Yea - Not a very good one tho and I don't have the back -

Just another scammer looking for a fish. |
No need to apologize for protecting the community from buying a bad fake. The code means Questionable Authenticity, it's their method of saying "fake" in a noncommittal way. I imagine someone in a legal department somewhere came up with it.
|
Wait so some idiot actually sent that card in. That is too funny.

It means questionable authenticity. It's PSA's polite way of saying you submitted a fake. Happens to the best of us.

Yes he would have. Me personally, I have no desire to pay $300 to send in a fake. It has only happened once, when I got burned on a Satchell Paige rookie that was a fake. It was one of the best fakes I have ever seen. I bought it raw from a famous pawn shop on TV that will remain nameless.

To me it seems like a tactic some sellers use on Ebay...send in an obvious fake card, get one of these labels back from PSA, then list card with label showing in hopes that a buyer/buyers think that the '?' after authenticity is actually PSA not being sure if the card is legitimate or not, instead of it most definitely not being authentic.
Shame on PSA for having that ridiculous question mark. And of course shame on all those slimy sellers out there working this angle. Brian |

First time I have ever seen this designation - |
I think the ?authentct is just shorthand for Questionable Authenticity...
