1994 Willy ‘The Dupe’ Dipkin P4
 

Whilst hunting for 89 Billy Ripken cards the last month or two I have come across this Simpson’s spoof of the card.

There are 2 versions a more common one with just a green back and no stats (B1 version). The more elusive and very rare version (P4) with stats on the back of the card (see images attached).

Does anyone know about these cards and could let me know some more about the P4 variant? I am assuming it was given out at a comic con or a pre release event of some kind?

Unfortunately my memory isn't the best anymore so can't remember the exact event it was handed out at. Hopefully Jon will give the answer.

Here is mine that I was fortunate enough to have a fellow member get signed for me at a event with Mr Ripken. The one with my name is authentic and the one with my name removed is a custom I made.

The #B1 Dipkin was issued in The Simpsons comic #4 in 1993/94. The card was inside the comic within it's own plastic wrap.

The #P4 Diamond was a promo given out at Comic Con or something similar around 1994 as part of a set. A promo set.
