Walter Johnson Was he dead when he signed this?

I was thinking of bidding on this Walter Johnson signed magazine photo
http://www.iconicauctions.com/Walter...-LOT59097.aspx
I wanted to date the photo and I saw this on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-WALTER-...kAAOSwzJ5XY0ZO
Is the top one a trimmed version of the bottom? If so it came out 5 years after Johnsons death but it must be OK since it has a JSA
Is the one for sale that is signed from 1951 or did it also come out in an earlier edition of the magazine???

I can't speak to the date of the photo in the auction, but the pictures are definitely not the same/from the same source.

It is an M114 and they were available for literally decades. Looks beautiful to me.

They aren't the same photo. One has a black hat. The other a white hat.

Mark is right. The two photos are quite different. Different uniforms, different glove, different arm and leg positions.

Guy had a consistent follow through it seems. That Iconic Auctions auto is pretty.

Did anyone see the video footage of Johnson pitching that was uncovered a few years back? Really cool, as his pitching looked effortless and almost lazy, a three-quarters side-arm type delivery. But tons of players were on record about his speed, including this one from Cobb"

"Just speed, raw speed, blinding speed, too much speed (Walter Johnson's fastball)."

Times like these I dream of a time machine, to see Johnson pitch (and stock up on 1914 Cracker Jack cards of his, having him sign several of course).
