1964 Yuban Coffee Litho Johnny Unitas Baltimore Colts HOF
 

I just listed this on eBay and wanted to also make people aware of it here since this is from a pretty rare set. This is the description I used on my eBay listing. It's listed for $950/OBO. I will consider the fact that there would be no selling fees if someone here is interested in making an offer. I sold the Jim Brown from this set a few months ago for $500, so I figured the Unitas should yield quite a bit more. Thanks for looking!

I am proud to have the opportunity to offer this beautiful color portrait from the extremely rare lithograph set known as the 1964 Yuban Coffee Premiums. In case you want to look this set up in your annual Beckett Price Guide, they have the spelling of the coffee company as ‘Uban’ -the correct spelling is Yuban (*see coffee can photo). The lithograph is printed on heavy canvas and measures 9” x 11” to the outside edges. Yuban offered these lithos (17 total NFL players in the set) as part of a promotion with the NFL in the early 1960’s. Based on the star players in the set, it is believed the promotion took place around 1964, and could have spanned more than one year. The portraits do not include the player or team name. The players name is hand written on the back, probably at the time they were printed so the people at Yuban could easily tell who the players were to fill orders.

Condition: EX, slight musty odor and light staining on the back but does not show through on the front. Some light discoloration on the front border. Guaranteed 100% authentic, not a reproduction.
