June Mastro Classic Collector Auction - NOT a Mastro bashing thread!
Posted By: Jon Canfield
Just curious if anyone has received their items yet? I haven't but I've never won anything from the classic auctions, only the premier - so I was unsure of the wait time before I call... Thanks!

Posted By: Cat
Got mine a long time ago. I am sure they did not wait for the check to clear but I have bought from them often.

It's probably just a matter of you being a "newer" customer.

Posted By: barrysloate
I got my order weeks ago too.

I was going to start a Mastro thread but since Jon already did hope he doesn't mind me piggybacking it a bit. I got my National catalog today and it is quite beautiful. Every lot has either a single page or multiple pages such as the t215 Pirate group. It's very high quality. But I thought of something and wondered if others noticed: Is this the first time a major public auction is taking place with an open bar? Don't people tend to bid higher than they should when they've had one or two too many? Should make for an interesting sale.

Posted By: leon
I will be there and all I can say is that if I bid like a million dollars or something.....I won't be able to pay for it....so Doug, if you are reading this, and I get really drunk...don't let me bid... otherwise you will be answering to Bill why this dumba** Texan is even there.....

Posted By: Cat
Barry:

I had the same thought, but the open bar concept is very similar to me being at home while sitting in front of my computer and bidding. At times, I tend to load up on liquid courage. So personally, it makes no difference other than I don't want my competition bidding me higher because they are liquored up. The only item I am interested in comes towards the end of the auction, so the BAC could be running high among the bidders.

I do plan on being at the live event but haven't got my tickets yet.

Posted By: Jim Clarke
Seems like I have too many drinks in me everytime Barry has an auction. Sometimes I tell him to just bid on items for me which he thinks is low as I trust his judgement. I hate it when auctions go off and I'm in Vegas.

JC
