Hello and thanks in advance for any help.

I have this 1973-74 Flyers Stanley Cup Finals ticket and was wondering if from a scan if anyone can let me know if this is from the cup winning game.

Thanks again,
Bob

The series went 6 games and I believe, at least according to these eBay tickets I could find, that your ticket is from game 4? Far from an expert but that is what these tickets and the info about the game are telling me.

Thanks for your help. What confuses me is that the ticket is for the fourth home game of the finals. But, with Boston have home ice advantage the Flyers would only have three home games.

Unless the 4 represents game 4 of the finals. Then that would make sense as it would be the second home game and fourth overall. So either way the ticket is not from the cup winning game.

I had this ticket since about 1980 when I regularly went to garage sales and flea markets buying anything sports related. I probably paid under a dollar back then.

Thanks,
Bob

Typically playoff games for each team were numbered as such. From about the mid-70's, my understanding is most teams operated that way. I do not have knowledge of all teams, but anything I have seen (or attended) worked that way.

I have also seen some teams number their tickets from 1 to 12 or 16 (depending on the number of possible rounds to be played in a year) for each playoff.

My GUESS would be it is either from the fourth home game of the entire playoffs for the Stanley Cup. Failing that, if the Flyers decided to print tickets for each round (something most teams would not typically do as they were done once for the entire playoffs), then it could be the fourth game of the final (which never happened).

Either way, I would GUESS that it is not from the sixth game of the Stanley Cup Final in that year.

Home game 4 for Flyers was not played. Flyers Home Game 3 was game 6 and Cup Clinching game for Flyers vs Boston. Boston held home ice and was 1,2,5 Flyers were 3,4,6. Back when they printed tickets when you purchased a playoff strip you got 4 games each round and a refund after last game played.
