Heritage auctions lot 82144 could there be a lawsuit
Michael jordans credit app
Probably a crime, whoever took it from casino files And heritage exposing Michael jordans social security # WOW |
If the SS# was exposed before it has now been blurred out in the lot image, though other personal info remains such as bank account #'s (though probably no longer active).

Scott beat me to it. |
They are just as likely to be sued over the large number of trimmed and re-colored Cracker Jacks residing in high-number SGC slabs. For some reason, these lots all remain active despite concrete proof of alteration.
Truly disgusting on the part of Heritage (who has been notified by multiple sources). |

What Ah would even consider auctioning off something like that? What ever happened to common sense? I learned something about SSNs I never knew before from this thread and it wasn't baseball related.

I hate to be that guy, but..................if Michael Jordan was going to have his identity stolen, this is the absolute least of his worries.
Anybody who really wants Michael's SS#, likely already has it. ;) |

"The Area Number is assigned by the geographical region. Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office. Since 1972, when SSA began assigning SSNs and issuing cards centrally from Baltimore, the area number assigned has been based on the ZIP code in the mailing address provided on the application for the original Social Security card. The applicant's mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since." And at some point in the last 10 years I believe that they started randomizing them so now there is no correlation at all. |
