Some help, please, on this N172

Posted By: John
This is a reverse scan I just received of an OJ. I am not comfortable with the look of the back nor my ability to analyze it effectively. What are your opinions?

Thank you!

Posted By: leon
From the scan it looks like there is something over the back of the card like it's been rebacked. Very difficult to tell from that picture but those wrinkles don't look like normal wrinkles to me. It could be ok but those are my initial thoughts....Good luck

Posted By: barrysloate
The bubbles underneath the paper make it appear that it was rebacked. A little tough to say for sure from the scan.

Posted By: John S
Did the seller advertise the card as unaltered? I agree with Barry/Leon...the buubles and wrinkles are indicative of a bad paste job.

Posted By: Fred C
Keith,

I think you did well with that card. At $1800 it's not a bad buy. The seller has a satisfaction guaranteed return policy. If you don't like it, send it back. You can't beat that. You have to figure that the image on that card is SOOOOO nice. I bet it comes back an SGC40, even with the wrinkles.

Nice job Keith! If you need to make room for that card you know which card I want.

Posted By: Keith O'Leary

The seller bought a scrapbook with over 1400 (almost all postcards) cards in it and was able to soak them out with little trouble. Hes has been selling them off over the last several months on ebay including the Buchner Ward last night as well as some other vintage baseball previously. I asked about his return policy and he said if I was unhappy after receiving it, I could return it for a full refund. Seems like a reputable seller who has no hidden agenda and will stand behind it.

Yes Fred, something will have to go to make room .

Posted By: Dave F
Hopefully it turns out well Keith. I also had the impression the seller was a standup guy and if in fact the card has been rebacked or such I would have to think he had no knowledge of that. If i'm wrong then you got one heck of a deal, good luck.

Posted By: Zinn
OK, so it wasn't listed in baseball cards. But it was in Tobacco cards. That's a common category that many non-sports as well as sports cards collectors routinely search. Not surprising that Keith as well as the other 10 or so different bidders found it.

Nice card Keith. Congrats.
