Question for Bob Lemke

Posted By: Robert
I had a question about a card I picked up. It looks like an E96 but it is very thin. I see in the standard catalog of baseball cards that thier were proof cards issued of some players that were very thin. This card is very thin and has a blank back. Any help would be appreciated. Posted By: bcornell
Rob-

This looks and sounds like a card cut from an advertising sheet or from a notebook. There were a few previous posts about similar items, but I didn't find one that really answered your question.

Take a look at Frank Ward's page here - http://members.aol.com/fkwcenturyold/1913Notebook.html. Those are E95's, but they're the same, I think.

Bill

Question for Bob Lemke

Posted By: jjfornal
I do believe that some of these thin blank back card are cut from a notebook but there are Proofs around. Does anyone know who the 17 players are that were featured on the notebooks? What grading service would even grade this cards because of their nature, being hand cut, deem them as trimmed. PSA, BGS and SGC will not grade them any idea who will?

Posted By: Robert
Could be from a notebook. On page 37 of the standard catalog of baseball cards it tells that there could be more players that are still unknown. Rob

Posted By: Bob Lemke
A recurring bout with osteomyelitis (sp?) has had me in the hospital and homebound since Aug. 3. I'm currently not very mobile and the drugs have me kind of loopy. I try to keep current with the forum reading, but am not able to contribute as in the past. The 2005 Standard Catalog DID go to press on schedule and should be printed and in the market system within 30 days.
