Blanks....a better view

Posted By: Kevin Saucier
I've showed altered blank front/back made cards before but usually they have been close to actual size. Here are some magnified pictures for you to examine. Both are different cards, one is for sure a T206.

As you can see the surfaces have no fiber disruption or paper loss. Any wrinkles, creases or damage to the cards were there originally (keep in mind they were beaters from the start). Only the ink is missing. Most of the time this alteration can be seen under a black-light...but not all of the time. If done with skill and knowledge a black-light detection can be masked and not reveal a thing.

These look like they just came from out of the factory...even added slight toning. The spots are from the scanner.

With this type of alteration the edges have a natural cut and untouched appearance. Again a warning to all collectors...be very careful when buying blank back or front error or proof-type cards!!

I may have about a dozen of these...many are blank on both sides just to see if it could be done

Enjoy!

Kevin Saucier

Posted By: Marc S.
your technique is improving. That looks really good, with seemingly no trace evidence on the scans you provided.
