Brimfield

Hello,

I'm thinking of going to the Brimfield antique/flea market next week. I read through Carlton's blog about it but wanted to get others opinions from people who have also gone. I'm only able to go one day, and I know different fields on different days. So should I go on the opening day or wait till Thurs/Friday. Thanks

Plus is there alot of sports stuff?

There is really no perfect day to go - they are all lots of fun for different reasons. Like any show, it's all about being in the right spot at the right time. The show is very large and there are sports items, just not as widespread as you would hope. Over the course of the entire week, there are but a handful of dealers with strictly sports items. However, the best finds/deals are in the booths of people that have a variety of items. The competition is stiff and can be difficult/frustrating for a newbie if you go with high hopes - there is a lot of networking among dealers so things are held back/shown to others before being placed out to the masses. Having been going for over 20 years I can tell you that sometimes you come home with a bunch of stuff, sometimes you come home with an empty car but you always get a great day of exercise. I love the entire Brimfield experience - it's like an entire week of harkening back to Christmas mornings of when you were a kid.
