Wonder what everyone won in last night's Rea Auction. I thought prices were strong again for T206's. I missed out on more than one, won a few, thought I got a great deal on the T206 Vic Willis Cycle 460 PSA 2 with clear wet sheet transfer of another cycle 460 on the front for $650 (before buyers premium). Oh yeah almost forgot, bought the Magee just to round things out.

bobbyw8469 02-20-2023 07:23 AM

Total wipeout. I didn't see any deals. Maybe there were some to be had?

theshowandme 02-20-2023 07:29 AM

Too poor to buy anything

5's are strong but that's not the case for 4's, which are down pretty low right now. Commons can be had for around $100 or less. If you're looking to upgrade your 2's or 3's to 4's, now is a good time for you.

Cory 02-20-2023 07:44 AM

I picked up 3 HoF and 1 short print

3 finger Brown cubs on shirt, Walsh, Waddell throwing. All 1's.
And a George Brown(e) Washington 3. Bid on about 2 dozen other lots I didn't win.

bbcard1 02-20-2023 07:50 AM

My biggest win was a bid I didn't place. I am down to a handful of Diamond Stars high numbers and somehow tried to place a bid on Red Lucas when I was really wanting Schoolboy Rowe. Sort of a brain fart. I must have fat fingered the bid and I didn't end up placing it...which was perfect!

Can't speak about non-rare backs...but T206's with non-common backs are as strong as ever...picked these up...

Popped my Cobb cherry!

Not REA, but I decided to pop my Cobb cherry this weekend. And boy did I ever! ;)

Let's now set the over/under on how many times a day I look at it once it arrives.

Bobbycee 02-20-2023 08:20 AM

That's a beauty of a Cobb, Brian. Congrats!

MVSNYC 02-20-2023 08:24 AM

Wonderful looking Cobb.

rjackson44 02-20-2023 09:26 AM

Beautiful cards everyone

Touch'EmAll 02-20-2023 10:18 AM

That green Cobb - Wow! - Lots of border, nice color and focus, clean back. What the heck on the technical grade?

ParisianJohn 02-20-2023 10:21 AM

I picked up a 1956 Topps (SGC 5) of Jackie Robinson, which is my first Jackie card. I figured since it's 67 years old now that it can retire and join my collection as the new kid.

I also got a John Anderson T206 at PSA 4. I always liked the color scheme on that one. I also have Norwegian ancestry and Anderson is the first, of only three, MLB players to be born in Norway. His card is from when he was with Providence in the minors after his MLB career, and I have a lot of ties and good memories of that city.

Last night I was also looking at a Bill Killifer SGC 7 from the 1915 Cracker Jack series on eBay. It was sitting at around $650 until the last 15 seconds when it jumped to $1613. I expected a last second bounce, but not that much. It won't be in my mailbox any time soon.

Seriously! I don't get how that's a 2. It looks awesome. If it's ever put up for sale I'd crack it and resubmit.

Great pick up!

Thank you!

I've been looking more at some 1950s cards lately and I like the looks of the 1955 Ernie Banks, the 1955 Ted Williams and the 1958 Aaron with yellow lettering. I'm hoping to pick those up this year.

Smart pick ups robert

Picked up the N172 of 'Shorty' Radcliff and T206 Harry Davis. They will both fit in well with my collection.

Amazing looking 2.

Got shutout on my bids for single cards, but managed to win a couple unopened boxes. Will be fun to crack those once they arrive!

Three new m113s added to my collection in two lots, one of them was the last item to close.

You found new ones you didnt have? The big ones went for strong prices considering the dogeaten condition.

The 1955 Teddy Ballgame is the bomb, IMO one of the most perfectly designed cards ever made

The 54 and 55T are probably the first cards I was ever aware of, and gorgeous. They had everything: action shot, portrait, facsimile sig, team logo, and those beautiful color backgrounds, not to mention all the great stuff on the back. No wonder virtually every boy my age had baseball cards in the day.

Uh oh.
Received my shipment today.

REA sent me the wrong lot. Of course, the most expensive unopened box of the four that I won. I just sent them an email so hopefully they can follow up and correct this. I'm assuming the correct box got sent to someone else so I'm hoping that they can get it sent back from that person.

Yes, I think this is right. However, part of it is venue. T206 true commons in grades 1-4 do better (meaning fetch higher prices) on eBay than at auction houses, in general.

tbob 02-27-2023 02:54 PM

REA seems to really have become more speedy in shipping out items won. Very appreciative.
As a T210 collector I’ve noticed that there are more and more guys bidding on these, driving the prices up, especially series 7 and 8 cards. Unless there are collectors collecting specific teams, it looks like there are more and more collectors going after a master set (minus Joe Jax and Stengel).

MBMiller25 03-08-2023 01:37 PM

That green Cobb is really spectacular. Congratulations

NYYFan63 03-09-2023 06:41 AM
