Question about Willie Mays Photo Postcard
Posted By: Ken W.
Hey Guys,
When I was about 10 years old, Willie was my favorite player, but I had no baseball card of him. My parents suggested that I write to him, to see if he would send me something. I received this photo postcard in the mail. It is blank-backed, except for my name and address and the printed postage stamp - sent in February, 1972. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen this or any other Giants player on one of these before? Was this some sort of team issue? Can't find anything in the catalog about it. It is postcard size. Pretty sure the autograph is printed. Thanks for any help.

Ken

Question about Willie Mays Photo Postcard
Posted By: Paul S
Nothing like the thrill of being eight years old and actually having your favorite player send you their autograph. We had a thread here about autographs we've obtained personally. When I was a kid I did the same with Kaline, Banks and Aaron, and a few others. Imagine doing that now...if you got anything in return it would be an invoice along with the card.

Posted By: bobw
Alot of the McCarthy's had preprinted autographs on them, players would then autograph them. Thats why some have 2 "autographs" on them
