Bowie Kuhn

After seeing some of Bowie Kuhn's cards from his estate trickle onto eBay. My mindset about him as changed. A closet T206 collector of raw low grade stuff.....even a funky back collector........we have so much in common.

Leon, why wasn't this man offered a moderator job??? Here are a few of his old cards and a couple of articles about his estate:

I agree with you, iggyman.....Bowie was a cool guy. Certainly better than Selig.

Not sure why these were sold in a different auction from last year's Hunts auction, during which I picked up this one:

Argh! I missed that T206 Cobb! I saw the auction but never bothered to read the description (or even look closely at the back picture!). Oh well, from what I've been told......... I'm glad this hobby is a good stress reliever. I will now quietly meditate, as I ponder the meaning of life, the afterlife and my blissful ignorance stupidity!!!

By the way, some poeple trash Kuhn (Durocher comes to mind) while others have praised him. So, my perception of the man as always been mixed. Ted, by chance, since you've been known to frequent Cooperstown. Have you ever met Kuhn?

ON A SIDE NOTE: I sure hope the "Black Knight" does not give me a demerit for turning this thread into a private conversation...

Lovely Day...

Iggy

Nope, never met Bowie Kuhn in Cooperstown.

Had I, I would have talked BB cards with him and perhaps work up some trades.

How quickly we forget, Ted. Bowie died after the vets committe voted him in but before the actual ceremony (that's why his son had to give the speech at Cooperstown).
