An old-fashioned "petition" ? To E-Bay

This weekend's card show '' the Philly show'' will be attended by thousands from all over the East Coast over the next three days --- would it make sense to ask visitors/collectors , as they are entering , to sign a diplomatically-worded old fashioned petition , alerting E-Bay higher-ups ( not the phone serfs ) to the degree of disappointment out here in the real world with their costly decision to reduce the listing/searching categories ? Just a thought ; it's still impressive to hold in your hands and read an actual hard copy of someone's sentiments , I believe .

I think its a good idea. Every little bit helps. Phone calls and emails sure have gotten us nowhere.

We are just small peanuts in Ebay's circus. I really don't see how that would help, but certainly could not hurt. I certainly don't think you will get the dealers to sign, they have been complaining about Ebay every since it started. They just hope it will go away and limit the amount of lower priced cards from their higher sticker prices.

Unless Ebay changes owners or philosophies, We can only hope that there becomes an viable alternative.

Worth a try.

I personally am not bothred by it, I found that the categories were inconsistently used anyway, so I only use keyword searches.

I support your efforts and commend you. Cannot hurt to try. It will be interesting to hear how this decision has impacted sales next week when the full brunt of this decision will start being felt...

(Side Rant: As has been discussed, the old method allowed you to seach by keyword AND category, the new one does not. The item specific substitute is much more difficult for casual buyers to understand, is time consuming for sellers, and could be used in ADDITION to the subcategories if the consumer wanted to narrow things down to very specific searches...)
