Is ebay having problems?

Is ebay having issues or is it my browser? Whenever I search a seller or any card, I get "Your search returned 0 items". Is anyone else getting this or is it just me?

Thanks.

Cy

Yes, they seem to be having problems.
I am encountering it as well.

Sat down at the table tonight with a frosty cold one, looking forward to doing some eBay searching for the first time in ages, and got the same problem.

Me, too. Search function has been dysfunctional for at least the past three hours. Everything else seems normal.

Mikehealer 11-21-2009 05:30 PM

Not working here either.

rhaynes74 11-21-2009 05:34 PM

Use the advanced search feature (with title & description box checked.) You will get more results than you probably bargain for, but it is a good workaround for the time being.

V117collector 11-21-2009 05:39 PM

Yup, Ebay is down here too!

Wanzies1278 11-21-2009 05:51 PM

FYI -

e-Bay advised that they will be refunding listing fees and that you don't have to complete your transaction with the highest bidder if you feel that the system issue affected the final $ of your item.

canjond 11-21-2009 05:59 PM

problems here too

Bamacollection 11-21-2009 06:15 PM

Still down!

ChiefBenderForever 11-21-2009 06:22 PM

Been down for atleast 5 hours and costing sellers a lot of $$$ for today and the rest of the week if today was the only time someone had to search.

Search announcement from ebay

**Issues with Search results and eBay Stores***

November 21, 2009 | 03:28PM PST/PT

Due to errors in some of our backend systems, members may be seeing different errors in Search. This could be that "We were unable to run the search results you entered. Please try again in a few minutes" or a blank page, or simply the browser being unable to display the page.
This is also affecting the ability to access eBay Stores through search directly, and sometimes from the store URL.

Workarounds - Buy It Now Search and Advanced Search
If you use the Advanced Search option at the top of the page, and type in your search query and click the title and description box and then run the search, the results for the title and description search will be returned.

Alternatively, if you receive a 0 results page for title search and click the Buy It Now tab (or choose the title and description box and re-run the search), you'll see the (Buy It Now or title and description) results for your search query.

Please note that we are working as quickly as possible to get this resolved. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work to resolve this.

Woopdedoo. They'll give you back your 50 cents listing fee. I am sure they will hang on to the final value fee upon the item selling and I don't, for one minute believe a damn word ebay says about anything (don't have to complete the transaction). I have been down this road with ebay before, buying items costing several hundreds of dollars using bing for a refund and being told by bing that ebay said there was a glitch and they wouldn't authorize the bing refund, etc, etc, etc.

Search function appears to be working now.

Looks to be a barnburner fourth quarter in Palo Alto. Go Bears!

the-illini 11-21-2009 08:25 PM

Is the pre-1942 category missing for anyone else? I cant locate it.

Kawika 11-21-2009 09:53 PM

"Is the pre-1942 category missing for anyone else? I cant locate it."

Spoke too soon. Search function working on three cylinders. Can't search baseball cards other than as one LARGE category with over 150,000 hits.

Bears dodge a bullet.

scooter729 11-22-2009 07:57 AM

Still a problem with the lack of the pre-'42 search. Hopefully this can get resolved soon; Sunday night will be tough to search without that filter!

calvindog 11-22-2009 08:19 AM

I also can't find the graded/non-graded box.

Even the Great Ones are having a ruff time. :)

PGACPA 11-22-2009 01:31 PM

The PRE WWII subcategory is gone. Anyone else experiencing this?

tbob 11-22-2009 01:50 PM

What a revolting development this is. After so many of us here complained to them and got them to at least have a pre-WW2 subcategory, we are back to square one and you have to sort through refractors and shiny cards to find anything. It takes searching through 150,000 crap cards to find anything vintage. Ebay has eliminated the subcategories and the menu you could check to find specific years.
Does anything they do surprise us? They have become incredibly un-user friendly over the past few months.

Mark 11-22-2009 02:55 PM

I suppose we should give them a call to ask for the return of the pre 1942 category and for the chance to screen for the various years in the title. I wouldn't be surprised if this were a glitch. Nor would I be surprised if they decided to ditch the filters that we use so often.

DJR 11-22-2009 03:45 PM

.

calvindog 11-22-2009 06:03 PM

Pre-1942 as well as graded/non-graded categories have been restored.

ibuysportsephemera 11-22-2009 06:13 PM

What DJR said is not entirely true. I have many small college football media guides in my eBay store that are usually the only result in search. I just checked a few items and they all show up.

At least they chose off-peak times to do their maintenance...
