1968 Topps Baseball near set minus three cards (595/595)

A set put together by a collector over twenty-five years ago. The set is missing Clemente (150), Ryan/Koosman (177), and Mantle (280). Overall I would rate the set as an average VG-EX with many cards better. Surveying the group I found 39 cards with similar issues (well-rounded corners & scuffing) that I would rate as in the GD to GD-VG range. These are the worst cards from the group. The numbers of these cards are (19, 47, 49, 68, 77, 102, 114, 119, 132, 133, 134, 139, 141, 158, 172, 181, 191, 226, 242, 248, 260, 261 (WRITING BACK), 266, 282, 285, 309, 311, 315, 324, 344, 360, 427, 430 (MINOR BACK DAMAGE), 451, 458, 474, 486, 494, 573. In my opinion the remainder of the cards are solid and presentable for a midgrade set. The only back issues that I noticed were on cards 261 & 430 as noted above.

I have scanned (see below) and will attempt to conservatively grade some of the star/key cards from the group. 1 (batting leaders) VG-EX+, 20 (B. Robinson) EX-, 45 (Seaver) NM/oc, 50 (Mays) VG-EX, 80 (Carew) EX, 100 (Gibson) EX-MT, 110 (Aaron) VG, 144 (Morgan) EX with wax on front, 230 (Rose) EX, 240 (Kaline) EX, 247 (Bench) awful diamond cut/crease, 250 (Yaz) EX, 330 (Maris) VG, 355 (Banks) EX, 370 (Aaron all-star) EX, 374 (Clemente all-star) VG-EX, 408 (Carlton) GD-VG, 410 (Jenkins) VG+, 480 (Manager’s dream) ? left border issues, 490 (Super stars) VG, 500 (F. Robinson) EX-MT, 520 (Brock) EX+, 528 (Tigers) VG-EX, 530 (Bird Belters) VG-EX, 575 (Palmer) VG-EX .
