STAT Going Out Of Business?

I don't know much about it but heard that STAT Authentics is going out of business. Any truth to it or just a wild rumor?

probably just abandoning a name with a bad rep so they can re-open with a new and improved name in hopes the rep doesn't follow them

Well, thanks for the links. TTA's COA will carry bout as much weight as a speck of dust in the Hobby, that will never change.

That's not even the funniest part that Stat is going out of business. The best part is the main and only authenticator at Coach's Corner is Chris Morales. That's like a bad horror movie

FUBAR 06-02-2010 03:04 PM

well he is a court approved forensic authenticated and former CIA agent...

Chris "Maxwell Smart" Morales

Maybe Stat thinks if they go out of business the won't get busted by the Feds cause there is no company left. Wrong.

I wonder if they'll be having a going out of business sale...I could sure use 20 or 30 Christy Mathewson's cheap!

FUBAR 06-02-2010 03:46 PM

Maybe they will have a liquidation sales and we can all get 20 or 30 Matthewson's

Wow that's bad. I was expecting the usual sort of thing where a poorly done spellchecker had made a mess of things.

Their typing is about as bad as mine is. Fortunately I catch a few of my mistakes while proofreading, something they obviously don't do.

A few weeks ago, this scan got tossed around as just how low things can go and how their reputation is defined. More amusingly is the wording (bidding is low so you can get a bargain!) for this piece as if they were doing us a favor by starting it so low. The final price on a baseball bat signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig was $1156. I wonder what it would sell for with an LOA from TTL as it seems as people have figured out what exactly is going on here.

Very sad but the show will go on.

Regards,

Larry
