Let's See Your T206 Jack Quinn Cards

Please post your Quinn cards. I'd like to see how many of you have the "Double New York" version, as I'm calling it.

It's almost like they printed the team name twice, but offset, on some of them. Both seem common, but it's pretty strange, so I was hoping you all may have some ideas as to what caused it.

Jack Quinn......

....is the only active player featured in the T206 set and 1933 Goudey set.

Here are mine. I have a Piedmont 350 on the way as well but it looks to be a single printed version.

Jack Quinn - Bobby Doerr connection

1 Attachment(s)
In 1934 Jack Quinn (1883-1946), nearly 51 years old and pitching in what was to be his last season, was a teammate of Bobby Doerr with the Hollywood Stars. Bobby Doerr was playing his first professional season at the age of 16. Doerr will be 93 in April and is the oldest HOFer.........pretty amazing.

Here's my Quinn....not a "double New York", but I've seen quite a few.

I haven't seen this many Quinns in one place since the last family reunion! :D
Thanks,

color misregistration

Here's two of my Quinns -- one with the double team lettering.

I wonder if it's a function of misregistration. Perhaps the New York lettering is composed of two inks -- black and green (or blue and yellow, if that's how the printer would create green) -- and if one of them winds up slightly offset from the other then that's how you get the double lettering effect.

Hi Trae,

It appears they did print "New York" in two different color passes. If the registration was off between those two color passes the result is the "Double New York."

Notice the additional shift in the dark color on the glove that is consistent with the shift in the darker New York color on the examples below.

its a simple print registration issue. nothing more.
some of them are out of register, some are not.

Thanks, everyone. Tim & Joe D. especially.

Haha @ Tony Quinn :)

I don't understand why they'd print it in two different passes if it's just black text.

Has anyone noticed any other cards in the set with similar two-pass team name printing?
