Help with a couple gloves (large pics)
My wife got these 2 gloves very cheap at a yard sale a few years ago. She said she got them from an elderly widow who said they had belonged to her late husband when he was young. They are pretty rough, but cool in my opinion. I'd love to find out approximately what year they might be from. The first 3 pics are the first glove and the last 4 pics are the second glove. Rawlings and Spalding are the brands respectively. I plan to use them as decorations in my vintage baseball themed room as soon as we move into our new house :)

The Rawlings dates to the early 1940s. That one looks like it was made for use by servicemen in WWII. The Spalding dates to the early to mid 1950s. Cool gloves. They should clean up nicely if you decide to do that.

Thanks for the response!
I'm not even sure how to clean them up if I wanted to. If you have any tips on that I'd appreciate it. The gloves are pretty dirty and stiff. I don't mind them looking dirty and used. In fact I think that gives them character, but if I could get them moving a bit more that might be cool. |
