What Are Your Top Ten Favorite Boxing Cards
Not rarest, not most valuable, but the ones you enjoy the most? The cards I happen to enjoy looking at the most are [in no particular order]:

Sorry Exhibitman, I didn't see you had already posted an N28 Sullivan, sorry. I'll add these instead.

Love those Pet's Brent.
My favourite 10 from my collection (Sorry for the scans, but I am going through a re-scanning phase after two crappy scanners!): N162 Dempsey (probably my favourite card of all) http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...162Dempsey.jpg N174 Dempsey http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...sey_SGC_40.jpg N184 Sullivan http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...84sullivan.JPG N28 Sullivan (which I have to upgrade) http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...ivan%20SGC.jpg N223 Sullivan - cool "hold to the light" card http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...ullivanSGC.jpg N310 Jackson http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...10/jackson.jpg Another card featuring the black prince. Aussie Ogdens. http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...kson%20SGC.jpg Great image on this 1920's Felix Potin card: http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...JohnsonSGC.jpg I have always loved this La Morena Schmeling card. The colours are crappy in this scan however: http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...hmelingSGC.jpg I could post a few of my Stadium cards, but this one is probably my favourite with it's colours. 1914 card of Eddie McGoorty (before his Pat bradley fight) http://photos.imageevent.com/boxingc...s/mcgoorty.jpg |

I guess I'll add a few more of my favorites.

Great cards David(GasHouseGang). Especially the N184 Sullivan and the GQ Sullivan. Are they in your collection?

I'll add one more. I think this is pretty rare and is from England. It and a companion piece showed up on ebay several years ago. I was one of the underbidders. It was called a Stephengraph as you can see on the rear. The central image is on silk.
|
There are 4 boxer Stevengraphs: Sullivan, Kilrain, Charlie Mitchell and Jem Smith. Here are Kilrain and Smith:
http://photos.imageevent.com/exhibit...nd%20Smith.jpg The weaving on the silks is absolutely beautiful. Variations are known on the colors used in the colored parts of the silks. |
There are also back variations.
