Who are these guys? Champions of Eastern Iowa '08 '09 '10

Picked up this RPPC of what is penned on the front Champions of Eastern Iowa '08 '09 '10. Any idea of the team, or league or any of the players? I know nothing on it, so anything is a plus. Thanks in advance.

Looks like an old English "C" and you got a bear for a mascot...If I had to guess I'd say the Clinton Teddies of 1910. Clinton is as far East as you can get in Iowa..it's right on the Mississippi River.

The Clinton Teddies only lasted for part of one year (1910). They were known as the Infants in '07 and '08 and there is no record of them having a minor league team in '09.

The 1910 team was in the class "D" Northern Association (not Northern League) With only 10 people in the picture it could be a class "D" team or a town team. The league did not last a season.

The only other "C" team I can think of in eastern Iowa is Cedar Rapids. They were known as the rabbits during that time.

Interesting postcard.

Des Moines isn't exactly Eastern Iowa, BUT their team was named the Champions(Champs).. I find it hard to believe that they could've had the same players for 3 consecutive years though.. I'd imagine it's probably a high school, because the "Eastern Iowa League"(as a minor league) only lasted one season in 1895, after which I believe many of it's teams entered the "Thee-I League". (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa League).

Really, I have no useful information...

Those are definitely not high school kids in the photo...Bruce is probably right in that it's a town team.
