Hello,
I'm new to this site so hopefully I'm on the proper page.
I am looking for employment information for baseballer Jimmie Foxx outside of baseball. Either between seasons and/or after his career ended.
I have a business card from a trucking company in Phila. with his name on the front and his signature on the reverse. The card is currently with PSA Authentication Services for validation of the signature. Once I get it back I can provide additional info. about the trucking co, which I know is out of business. Just startd my research so any info. will help.

I know he worked at various jobs after baseball. I live in the Phila. suburbs. My father often told me of Jimmie Foxx delivering beer in the suburbs. I believe he lived in Jenkintown , Pa at the time.

I read a very good biography of Foxx a few years ago and will try to dig it up. I recall he worked in several public relations and sales jobs. He sold cars, insurance, paint, oil. Of course, we know he coached the Fort Wayne Daisies and I think also coached college in Florida (Miami?).

Thanks for the replies thus far. I know there are several bios on him but no autobios. Two are recommended by online stores but again can't really say how much about his non-baseball life is discussed in each. Book title would be great.

The Mark Milliken bio has a chapter devoted to his life after baseball. About 20 pages or so I think.
