Am I missing something?

Isn't this just a 206 that has been badly stained by something? The price it got suggests otherwise...

you are right

something (chemical or other) obviously affected this card. The unaffected area on the front matches up with the unaffected area on the back. Unfortunately with the "freak phenomenon" going on, uninformed folks are going to be overpaying for these things which are simply damaged cards.

Looks like crap to me....but then again, some people buy crap....

That is what I thought as well Erick - the stain pattern matches too well for this to be a printing freak

Not worth the final sell price

Nothing on eBay surprises me anymore. Well, maybe a little bit.

I bought a card like this just to have one, $9 shipped and it has a Tolstoi back. It's just damaged, you can even see the exact same damage on the back

The freak craze is only going to lead to more alterations and more avenues for scammers to venture to.

I would highly recommend searching for previous auctions/sales/scans of ANY error/freak of this type (missing colors) online before bidding. You should be able to find examples of most quite easily. Any "new" examples should be suspect and checked thoroughly. Any fading or unevenness are red flags. Look for clean, bold colors (yellows, browns, pinks & reds)

Feel free to ask on here first, most likely any oddity on eBay has been seen by the usual error collectors.
