new member w vintage baseball bat question
Hi, I'm a new member, Pam Jones. I purchased a vintage baseball bat, Spalding with the name Pete Reiser incised on the bat, also Spalding logo 1859 made in USA. The bat is small, 27" (would this be considered a youth or boys size?) It also has an R on the knob. It has lovely patina and the estate was over 50 years old. I looked up info online on Pete Reiser and found him a most interesting player from the 1930's to early 1940's. The family only had one child, a daughter now in her early 60s so I feel this bat would have been her father's who would have been in his late 80s early 90s if still alive. I will attach photos and would appreciate any info any of you could share on this lovely old bat. Thank you, Pamhttp://imagehost.vendio.com/a/162978...gotublight.JPG

I moved it to the correct section. Good luck Pam!! |
That is a nice bat, but I am not a bat expert. That is not a store bat for what I know. Good item though and I'm sure an expert will weigh in

That is a store bat.

I missed the 27 inch part, but she is asking for help. Why don't you give her some if you know

great looking bat. It is a store model. Most likely from the late 40's. Not a whole lot of value do to length and lack of player desirability. It would sell for $35-45
