Help identifying date/players c1920s Toledo Americans
I was led to believe that this photo is of the 1922 Toledo Mud Hens.
Any player id helpers out there who can help me pinpoint the date? It might be wishful thinking, but is Bill Terry in this photo? Roger Bresnahan, perhaps? I certainly didn't see a 16 year-old Freddy Lindstrom. http://photos.imageevent.com/derekgr...2%20Toledo.jpg |
I don't think it is the team that played in the American Association, as they were called the "Mud Hens" from 1919 on (they were the "Iron Men" before that). The letters on the sleeve make me think its from an industrial league team or something, not a minor league. Great picture though, the detail is fantastic.

Thanks Gary. I definitely love the image. They sure look like "real" ball players though, don't they?
Any others w/ some insight? I'm leaning toward's Gary's conclusion, but wouldn't mind a second, third, or fourth opinion. |

The patch they have on their sleeves (NYCAA) stands for The New York Central Railroad Athletic Association. Below is The 1922 Erie team from Cleveland with the same patch and Syracuse manager with the trophy from 1922. Syracuse beat Erie for the championship of the East Line in 1922.
