America's National Game, by A. G. Spalding, 1911. 542 page baseball history that is both a classic and at the same time a fabrication of baseball history, reported as Mr. Spalding wanted the game's story to be told. Still, tons of useful historical information and dozens of great photographic plates. BAD NEWS: the book is in Fair condition, with a split at the spine and a weak binding. Definitely a reading copy only. GOOD NEWS: it is entirely complete, including the four fold out plates! Those are often missing even in fine condition books. Should be a bargain for the right collector ......$75.00

History of Baseball in the California and Pacific Coast Leagues 1847-1938, by Fred Lange, 1938. Informative 231 page soft cover book with illustrations is chock full of the history of west coast baseball, by former player Fred Lange. Really interesting with anecdotes and stats. Book is basically EX-MT except for a small tear at the base of the spine, which could be repaired with a touch of glue ..........$85.00

Second copy, with a complete spine but a few stray ink marks on the cover and a few of the pages. Also ........$85.00

Baseball 1845-1881, by Preston D. Orem. 1961. Extremely useful 359 page book, self published by the author, offers year by year history, including many box scores and photographs of players and teams, of baseball from its infancy to the first six years of the National League. Students of 19th century baseball consider this volume to be indispensable. Excellent condition with spine still tight. Somewhat scarce as it did not have wide circulation .....SOLD
