Question: would soaking help with fountain pen ink?

Or is there some other method that would work with removing it from the front of a card? I have a couple of '50s Topps cards in mind.

Thank you.

Two thoughts:
1) Soaking won't remove it and may cause bleeding
2) I hope this doesn't turn into another Dick Towle thread

I doubt it would help at all and would probably make things worse.

I've never tried soaking a 50's card, but I do have some that are water damaged. I'd rather have a pen mark.

Thank you both.

Don't know about fountain pen ink, but a lot of pen inks don't dissolve in water. And if you could dissolve it, it would probably make thinks worse.
