M101-4/5, Weil, Standard, Morehouse, Globe
I looking for a pretty complete checklist of M101-4/5 and all the advertising backs associated with them including Weil, Standard, Morehouse, and Globe. I understand if this is a closely guarded secret  to those working on the set. I like the idea of doing back runs, but the T206 set just doesn’t spark much interest (T206 guys don’t hate me, just not my cup of tea). My focus has been players who played ball for Columbus (Ohio) during their careers. There are a hand full that have been documented as having M101-4/5 cards issued, but there’s not as much detail about advertising distribution.
I would image this is something a few other members would be interested in hearing about. I’d like to add some information to the mix with some research I’m doing on Green-Joyce and Bucyrus Brewing. Once I get something solid I will share with everyone. Show off some back runs if you have them. Let’s see the Gimbles and Everybody’s variations. I know Leon had a great collection that’s made its way into the hands of a few members. I don’t want to make this thread about my own personal collection, but here are a list if the players I’m most interested in:

I only have 2 of the players on your list. Good luck with your search.

I was hoping to see more people weigh in on this subject. Here is a Ware's and Successful Farming I have in my collection.
Let's see some more. http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=19149 http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=19979 |
It is a thin market for back collectors. I had pretty much finished the run (I think) minus one Everybody's variation when I sold it. The thrill of the chase is most/a lot of the fun for me.... Here is a leftover with a neat back...

Check out Old Cardboard issue #16
Here we go again-
Todd Schultz and I co-authored an article in 2008 that will tell you more than you want to know about the M101-4 and M101-5 sets, including backs. Back issues are available for an insanely cheap $8: http://www.oldcardboard.com/misc/issue16/issue16.asp Happy collecting, Tim Newcomb |

I have various different backs, including a Successful Farming, a couple of Green-Joyces, etc. I'll have to check tonight to see which players they are.
