Mel Ott Postcard with George Brace Stamp 2 Attachment(s) Hi guys. I'm doing this from my phone so not sure if I will be able to attach photos properly. If this doesn't work I will add scans when I get home this afternoon. My question is about a postcard with a George Brace stamp. The postal stamp is from 1958 but the card feels older. I can't seem to find any info on Google. Any info would be appreciated. |

Brace made real photo postcards over a long period, often reusing the same images, so you can't pinpoint a year. But theoretically it could be a few years older but probably not many. Though I agree, if the pictured tone is the tone, that is an older looking tone. My experience is Brace's Post George Burke photos are on very white stock. You can do a black light test, because the photopaper cutoff for the black light test is 1955 (It's older for other paper). |

The back appears to be a Kodak back, therefore produced post 1948. Is the signature an Ott autograph? |

Ott was a Tigers broadcaster 1956-58. So the post mark makes sense. And I do think it could be an Ott signature. I belive he died in 59. |

Ott Not sure on the photo date, but I am confident that the signature was not penned by Mel |

Thanks for the feedback guys. Not sure if it's a real autograph(hand signed by ott or someone elsr) or a stamp. |
