1980 Topps unopened wax box posted a similar thread re: an unopened 1967 Topps cello pack... soliciting thoughts: a). leave it as is - hey, it's a 36 year-old - albeit NOT rare or unusual/hard to find - unopened box b). sell the unopened box to BBCE/other or c). WTF!!!??? open the packs and hope for a possible TPG 9/10(???) Rickey Henderson rookie or two? curious for input. DS |

Keep it or sell it, whichever you prefer. Even if you get the card as printed, your chances for a 9 are minimal because of centering/cut/print blemishes. Were it mine, I would sell it. |

Open the packs, sell if you want to use the $ for a card(s) you want in your collection. |

The 1980 Topps was the first set I ever completed. I was 12, and as a Phillies Phan, it was a tremendous year. Wish I never sold it to pay rent in college lol That said, if this were mine, I would bust it open and work on the set again! |

You could probably sell the box, buy a nice NM raw 1980 set and pocket $300-$400 cash. |

Send it to BBCE to have it authenticated then sell it. James |

1980 Hold on to it |

1980 baseball was my first set. My first to collect and complete. I was 7. Favorite cards were the Reggie and Garvey. About 20 years ago, I picked up a vending box and replaced/upgraded most of my original set. Wax Box - I would hold on to it but if you do want to move it, have it sealed by BBCE first. Busting it and pulling a 9 or 10 Henderson would be tough. |
