Pre-War (?) Cubs & White Sox Rooter Pin For Sale
2 Attachment(s)
Can anyone give me any information regarding these 2 Novelty Bat Pins?
The ribbons are silk. The bats are ~3 ˝” long. Besides the words “Cubs or White Sox Rooter”, the words “Pat Apld For” are also written on the back. I suspect pre-War, based on the Cubs logo, but… The Cubs ribbon is barely (no pun intended!) still attached to the bat, but can be re-glued. I would like to sell them here, but I am uncertain as to their value… If you have any info regarding them, please share it. If you would like to make me offer on them, please PM me. I may not respond to PMs immediately as I would like to give people enough time to respond, if interested, but I DO INTEND TO SELL THEM and I will contact anyone who was interested enough to make me an offer on them. (Assuming the new owner is OK with it, I will post the Selling Price here eventually.) Much obliged! |
Greg, I saw these on Mears auction website both together and with a box. They had them in there auction a few times and both as one lot. Back in 2011 both sold together for 35.00 and that included the buyer premium so about 25.00 I would guess. Then they had the same ones in a couple more auction and went for as high as 88.00 I think. Those actually looked in better condition then the ones you have. Check there past auctions and you can see what I'm talking about. I might be interested in the Sox one depending on price. keith

I would like to give it some more time before I move them, but I WILL get back to you one way or another... |
No problem Greg. There nice pins and a great piece of history from the early 1900's. Thanks keith

Pins-1906 World Series
I own these 2 pins as well. My understanding is that they were sold as souvenirs of the 1906 World Series which featured the Cubs vs. the White Sox.

The pins sold for $34.00 on eBay in case anyone was wondering!
