TROUT MAKES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MAJORS DEBUT

Mike Trout made his MLB debut batting ninth and starting in center field in place of Peter Bourjos.

Trout went 0-for-3 in his debut and made a highlight running catch.

At 19 years, 335 days, Trout was the youngest player to make his debut for the Angels

since pitcher Andy Hassler (19 years, 224 days) in 1971.

Youngest players in Angels history were Ed Kirkpatrick (17 years, 340 days) in 1962,

Willie Montanez (18 years, 11 days) in 1966 and Tom Egan (18 years, 352 days) in 1965.
