Hard to believe his autograph as a young teenager didn't change all that much. What's the earliest Ruth autograph anyone has seen? |
|
Looks like it was signed yesterday. If its supposed to be from 1908??? Ruth started his playing days in 1914. |

I think that date is 1938. It looks like a 3 that just has an awkwardly long upstroke at the end. According to an article I found Ruth was at Polo Grounds on that day introducing some attractions for the Worlds Fair. That style of signature would seem to fit that date. I like it. Jason |

Yea, may be a 3 for 38. Good info, thanks Jason. |

I saw this one on eBay after it closed and thought it was authentic, and someone got a good price. wish I had saw it while it was still for sale I would have bought it. It looks like a good Ruth, and also had some other notable signatures like Mel Ott, James Braddock, Jack Dempsey, etc. A nice pickup if you got it. |

Thanks Jeff. I did not win it or see it when on eBay unfortunately. Just looking for opinions on it. |

Was it authenticated by anyone? Im still on the fence with this one. |

No, has not been to my knowledge |

100% good. Nice bold signature. It’s a shame someone added the date, etc. directly below it. But good nonetheless. |
