Babe Ruth- was this posted earlier?

Sorry if i missed it earlier, just sae this on another forum and there was some discussion. Seems too good to be true, in about every way. |

I'm sure this has been discussed previously. I'll look for the article. |
I steer clear of autographs. One lawsuit involving competing renowned experts who studied a signature for months debating whether a signature was authentic (each getting like $800 hr. to testify) was all I needed to see to know that this stuff is 50% opinion and 50% complete horseshit.

The only way I'd ever consider that kind of an investment on a Ruth autograph is if I knew the example had ironclad provenance to start with. |
Some yellow flags for me besides the too good to be true element...
1. Anonymous = zero provenance 2. Scrapbook photos of card pages are fake 3. Determination of authenticity based on belief that a particular aging sign is impossible to fake 4. Scrapbook itself being withheld from the market over belief it is little value Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
This reads like an Onion article. How convenient with the anonymity and cash transactions!

The signatures look awfully bold from the pics, almost like a Sharpie, but not my area.

Seems sketchy AF. As the kids would say.

For $50.00 plus shipping you could have 125 chances to get a green Ruth past PSA.https://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-of-25-R...UAAOSwKwhbzDNk

According to PSA, one of the 4 cards that was graded at the National sold at the show. But Brian reports he bought the whole collection from the family at a house in Pennsylvania. ???? |

Didn’t one of the net54 member bought and showed off one of these 33 Goudey Ruth auto in one of the recent threads?

I'm so sick of you people. You never believe anything and you're all so skeptical. Quit ruining the hobby. I didn't want to say this, but I feel like I have no choice. I have a personal connection to the family that sold these cards and I can say with certainty that they are an amazing, honest, and credible family. They just want anonymity. In fact, the Mosers are probably the most upstanding people I know. So just knock it off. |
Why buy it, and not put auction it worth provenance?
