Mislabeled CJs on eBay/Probstein

Here we go again! PSA incorrectly labels these high grade 15 CJs as 14 CJs!
You would think with how long they have been in business and how expensive grading has become they would have caught it. In addition the cards being so nice and well preserved should have given them pause. Anyone else surprised?

Probstein has ended the listing. (As a side note, the first Cracker Jack I ever bought #80 Reulbach cert#27776721 was from Probstein. It was listed as a 14 CJ but when I got it in hand it was a 15 CJ so I contacted him and he refunded the money with no issues). PSA was also notified with pics and it still shows today as a 14 CJ in the cert verification database...

To put this in perspective can someone comment on the differential in price between the same player in the 1914 and 1915 CJ sets.

I’m no CJ expert despite loving them but 1915 much more plentiful. You could order the 1915s direct from the manufacturer. Plus I think the 1914s were printed on flimsier stock.

My guess would be about double for the 14's over 15's generally.
And every thread needs a card.

Perspective:
14 CJ Cravath PSA 7 pop 2 (incl this mislabelled one), none higher
15 CJ Cravath PSA 7 pop 10 with 16 higher

14 CJ Cravath PSA 6 sold for $3,500 in 2017

14 CJ Shotten PSA 7 pop 2 (incl this mislabelled one) with one higher
15 CJ Shotten PSA 7 pop 11 with 13 higher

14 CJ Shotten PSA 7 sold for $3,600 in 2016 v 15 CJ PSA 7 sold for $508 in 2016

What a beautiful card. I'm going to take this opportunity to gratuitously share my favorite card. :)

Great looking CJ, especially for a '14.

Add another mislabeled 1914 CJ graded by PSA sold by Probstein

So how do you tell the 14s from the 15s?

Among other things, the orientation on the reverse.

Add in that any newly graded CJ that high end is probably not a 14 (unless card has been cracked out or a crossover)
PSA has graded 261 14 CJ cards 6.5 or higher which is a little over 5% of the graded PSA cards (261 out of 5102)

PSA graders and quality control must simply do better and as many cards Probstein sells he should know the difference by now

Another easy way is the bottom paragraph length is longer on the 1915

The 1914 set has 144 cards, whereas the 1915 set has 176 cards, as stated on the backs of the cards.

You guys are expecting too much. You only paid $75 per card and waited for a year or so. You can't expect PSA to figure out the difference between a 1914 and a 1915.

Enter Snowman to tell us why we are dumb (or at least ultra purists) for being upset that PSA does not know the difference between a 1914 and 1915 CJ (let alone a reprint) and how it’s just their opinion on what year it is (or whether it’s even an authentic card) and so we should just take it or leave it.

I've seen a few cjs labeled wrong, NOT ONCE has it gone unnoticed and someone overpaid/underpaid for the card. Just an observation
