My top five dream hobby gifts

Aside from the awesome Secret Santa contest, I thought it would be fun to list five or so things we would love to have for an acquisition, Christmas or otherwise.

Without putting anything ridiculous (aka Wagner T206, Joe Jackson sig, etc) Here are mine that Id love to get, within reason, that are out of my range now.

Any Jackie Robinson autograph
a Cracker Jack baseball card of a HOFer in any condition
a Thurman Munson autograph
Ty Cobb autograph
Ticket stub or scored program from any Babe Ruth homer game.

Lets see yours!!!

3)'58 Jim Brown rookie
2)'59 Bazooka Billy Pierce

Reasonable in cost but might be hard to acquire

5. WS scorecards from select years pre 1926
4. Early Boston Redsox or Yankee Pennants pre 1925
3. Early Type 1 photo of Lou Gehrig 1923-1925
2. 1912 Boston Garter Advertising Display Sign
1. Like Scott above mentioned a Ticket stub from a Babe Ruth Homer Game

Not pre-war but for cards....

Griffey Mantle 1994 UD dual signature
Nice OPC Gretzky RC
The three 1954 Tigers gray backs
2007 Topps Andrew Miller pose variation
Nice (7) centered Kaline RC

Both fills some holes in my collection and a couple cards I have admired for some time. A few I just haven't pulled the trigger on yet and a couple I can't find.

Memorabilia...

Isiah Thomas game-used jersey from college or HS
Clemente/Cobb/Ruth/Jackie/Munson auto
Tickets to the NCAAF Championship game
Game-used Verlander jersey
Game used Brady and Woodson jerseys from Michigan

Best of luck, I have been trying that for easily 20 years with no luck so far.

For me it is Wade Boggs bat models I don't have.

Snowman 12-14-2021 11:24 AM

1. Jackie Robinson auto
2. Ticket stub to Jackie's debut game
3. Ticket stub to Willie Mays' "The Catch" game

This is fun:

1) The remaining signed 1953 Topps that I need, but especially Vern Stephens. Two have gotten away from me this year, including one last week.

2) A signed 1941 Play Ball Jimmie Foxx.

3) Same as above, but Ted Williams.

4) A Tom Brady rookie.

5) A Mac Jones rookie that isn't obscenely overpriced. (Probably should have struck this one so as to not contravene the 'nothing ridiculous' clause).

knoxcat1983 12-14-2021 11:53 AM

1952 topps Ted lepcio

Yup, that would be a sweet addition but I likely won't be in on that one.

Carter08 12-17-2021 04:42 AM

My five:

A Ruth type 1 photo
1937 all star game program
Spahn ticket (no hitter, debut, or a big win)
Goudey Ruth 144
Finish E93 (basically Mordecai Brown)

Merry Christmas all.
