Tiger Stadium Seats, refurbished
2 Attachment(s)
I know, should not refurbish stadium seats, but weather took it’s toll. Had these seats since 1975. This green is suppose to be “Tiger Stadium Green”, I think it is the newer stadium green. But, am satisfied with the end product. Was not planning on selling anyway. Before & after pictures.

They look very nice. A good addition to wherever you end up displaying them.

paint color
A few years ago, a Paint Store in Pontiac (Pontiac Paint) supplied material to a man who was restoring an old wooden seat from Tiger Stadium. The men at the store referred to the color as, "Stroh's Green."
I remember when they renovated the ballpark. The old seats were in a huge pile outside the stadium sitting in the winter weather. I think they were asking five or ten bucks for a seat. Maybe someone can correct me on that price. Then they covered the stadium in tin siding and put in plastic seats.....Fenway has character, Wrigley has character. As soon as you add tin siding and plastic, there goes the character. It just as easily could have been a Home Depot (although they never could have removed the stale beer smell). I am forever stunned the place stood as long as it did. |

Free is always good! :p

I know this is just my opinion but I preferably would have left them alone with the old look

If I had these in a hobby room and wanted to sit in them once in a while, and especially if I had young children, I'd want to do what the OP did - sand off that old paint, clean it up, and give it a fresh paint job. Then, no worries - just enjoy them. |

Fantastic job on the stadium seats Joe. Painting them does not take away the vintage look and makes them more inviting for people to use and enjoy. If they had the figural I may have been a little hesitant in altering them. The color looks an exact match.
