Opening day Scorecards and Tickets

With a deal being struck and Baseball on the Horizon. I am sharing my 1941 Opening day Scorecard the game was played on April 14th between the Senators and the Yankees. The rest of the teams in both leagues began play the next day on April 15. It was the Debut game for Phil Rizzuto future MVP and HOF'er. And it was the begining of one of the most memorable seasons in baseball history. With Ted Williams .406 and Dimaggio's 56 game streak so many in the country were happy to have baseball take their minds off world events. I had seen a scorecard from the Yankees home opener but this was the first One of these I ever came across.
Hopefully others can post their opening day items as we await what I hope ends the same as 27 previous seasons including 1941, With the Yankees as Champions. |

I just received this today, opening day 1970, Steve Garvey makes his first career start, in his fourth career game, but not at his future standard first base, this one is at third.
I also got an unscored program, which isn't usually thing, I'm very much more a scored program guy, but for Garvey I had to pull the trigger. I'm a San Francisco native, but a life long Dodgers fan, and Steve Garvey is the reason, so very happy about this pickup. Doug |
