Mantle exhibit - real or reprint?
 

MANTLE EXHIBIT: Authentic or Reprint?

Hoping to get some help to identify this Mantle exhibit - I’ve had it forever (as in, late 80’s) but I don’t know the origin or how to tell if it’s an original or reprint of the exhibit cards

I see them ocassionally sold here so hoping some experienced exhibit seller/collectors can help me identify this card

Reprint. I bought one just like it on ebay and returned it.
An authentic one wouldn't have a white back like that.

It’s not actually white, it’s more cream actually… see updated image here with the card placed on white paper

looks alright to me being cream colored. stay away from the grayish back as far as i remember.

I've never owned an Exhibit...held a few...I really like them. If it is real (no idea) it certainly is trimmed. The original isn't cropped through the hat like that...

I don't like it. Oversized image and white back, even though you think it looks a little creamy.

Do you have any other Exhibits you can compare the size to?

CLEARLY a reprint. Fuzziness of the photo is the first clue.

Thanks for the input… as I mentioned, I have had this since I was a kid and honestly treated it as a reprint

Read some articles about exhibit cards and saw that these were reproduced in various ways in the late 70’s and early 80’s

The only thing that is “off” is the crème color of the back of the card seems that the reprints are usually gray or white

I took higher res scans this morning - see belo. But based on this input, seems more likely than not to not be an original.
